A photographer (the Greek φῶς (phos), meaning "light", and γραφή (graphê), meaning "drawing, writing", together meaning "drawing with light") is a person who takes photographs.
‘Yashica’ - It was the second brand name that I learnt, after 'kiwi', the shoe polish brand. I was around five years old, living in a rural village in Sri Lanka. Father was back home for a month or two for his annual leave from an overseas job and had brought a camera with him. I loved the noise the camera made - ‘click’. I remember the first time I got to click. I think the subject was either my brother or sister. It didn’t matter - the interesting part was that I got to click the shutter. That was my introduction to photography. I liked it and still do very much - so I click!
